The Farnborough Society is proud to announce the first recipients of the Extra Mile Award: the staff of the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Eelmoor Lane. Chairman David Jennings presented the award to Manager Adam Doll, in recognition of the truly outstanding service provided by his staff. Invariably courteous and helpful, Doug’s team also keep the facility exceptionally clean and tidy. David congratulated Doug on their impressive work ethic and high standards.
On hand for the presentation was Doug Craig, Operations Manager for Hopkins, the site operator, who expressed his pride in Adam and his team. Also in attendance, from Hampshire County Council, were Geraint James, Contracts Supervisor, Zoe Cooke, Communications Officer, and Louise Ponting, Communications Assistant, who all agreed that The Farnborough Society has chosen worthy recipients for this inaugural presentation, who are making a significant contribution towards improving our local community. |

The choice of recipient for 2009 was made by the Executive Committee of The Farnborough Society, and the selection of the Household Waste Recycling Centre was unanimous. However, in future, we shall be looking to our members to nominate companies or organizations making a contribution towards the quality of life in Farnborough that is far beyond what is generally expected: people who are going the Extra Mile to provide exemplary service. You can send your nominations any time throughout the year to Barbara: barbara@pbhurst.com or 01252 405149 |
