Policing in Farnborough
TFS Executive members Brian Fyfe and Jo Gosney were not totally thrown by the failure to appear of the guest speaker, the local Police Inspector, when 20 members and new faces turned up at the Council Offices as arranged on 7 July 2010 to hear about the local policing issues and a visit to the police station. Jo was persuaded to give an impromptu talk on policing in Farnborough's past.

Then we decided to set off crocodile fashion to the police station to seek to solve the mystery. A broken wrist and a communication failure -but do not despair the women and men in blue including those in the "we are not traffic" unit gave us a most hospitable welcome. We saw the duty area, the cells, the police vehicles including those with blues and twos deh - dah, deh - dah, the offices up stairs and the Road Policing ( "we are not traffic" ) unit. Then a presentation on how things are organised from a Policing point of view in Farnborough raised lively debate. We had to draw things to a close having nearly outstayed our welcome, not that the hosts gave any indication of growing weary and to whom we gave many thanks.
