Fern

Farnborough's Saxon name was Ferneberga or 'Fern Hill'. The Fern is pointing up and to the right, looking towards the future. This reflects Farnborough's history going back to the Domesday book.

Colours

The colours of the Fern on the left of the stem are established leaves full of life whilst the newer, lighter, leaves on the right of the Fern need nurturing and protecting so that they may grow.

The blue in the slogan shows a recognition towards the founding of the Royal Air Force and the area's rich aviation history.

Slogan

The slogan is exactly what the Society is about in one sentence. Preserving the past, shaping the future.

Font

The font is Trebuchet, often utilised in website and graphic design. It has a forward thinking feel with a hint of the past whilst remaining stylish and understated.
